About the role

Leicester is a leading University committed to international excellence, world-changing research and high quality, inspirational teaching. We are an ambitious, discovery-led institution, with a global outlook and a vibrant international community of students and staff that is world-renowned for its research.

This is a key position in HR as we are entering a period of significant change with a genuine focus on creating an agile workplace that will completely change how we work. We are seeking an experienced and highly competent HR Professional to manage a team of Senior HR Advisers and lead the delivery of a comprehensive and effective HR service to the college. Working from both home and on campus, you will advise, coach, influence and challenge senior stakeholders on significant HR issues and proactively influence a climate of change and alignment of schools/departments to the University’s strategic aims.

About you

You will be a Chartered Member of the CIPD, educated to degree level (or equivalent) and demonstrate substantial experience of managing and implementing significant change projects and transformative business processes. You will have experience of both strategic and leading operational HR in a unionised environment within a large complex organisation.

Previous applicants need not apply.

For an informal discussion or enquiries about this opportunity please contact Emma Stevens, HR Director on emma.stevens@leicester.ac.uk

Closing date: 25 July 2021.

We anticipate that first stage interviews will take place during week commencing 2 August 2021 and second stage week commencing 9 August 2021.

The University of Leicester has been changing the world, and changing people’s lives, for 100 years. When you join us, you’ll become part of a community of Citizens of Change, which includes not only our staff and our current students but also thousands of Leicester graduates around the world.

As a diverse and forward-thinking employer, we embed the principles of equality, diversity and inclusion into everything we do. That includes not just our core missions of teaching and research, but also our support for staff, students and our local community.

We’re committed to the wellbeing of all our staff and to the sustainability of our environment, on our campus and beyond. We offer a competitive salary package, excellent pension scheme and a generous annual leave allowance, along with opportunities to develop your career in a supportive and collaborative environment.
