My client, an independent organisation that plays a crucial role in upholding the professional standards of its members, now requires an experienced equality & diversity specialist to join them on a permanent basis.

This role offers a fantastic opportunity for an experienced equality and diversity specialist to lead the promotion of equality, diversity and inclusion, both within the organisation as an internal expert on EDI matters and also externally across the profession it regulates.

As Head of Equality and Diversity you will work closely with internal colleagues to provide thought leadership on equality and diversity matters and promote equality and diversity good practice across the organisation. Through your expertise you will also lead a small team to develop and input to programmes, projects, polices, learning initiatives and events for external stakeholders that promote equality and diversity to the profession.

This exciting and challenging role requires someone with excellent stakeholder engagement skills who can not only act as an internal EDI expert, but who can also undertake a variety of speaking and other external engagements on behalf of the organisation. Focusing particularly on outreach to under-represented groups, promoting access to the profession and the services it provides and ensuring that consumers’ interests are at the heart of all policy development, this role requires someone with the confidence to give challenging messages in a tactful way to senior stakeholders across the sector and deliver training to change behaviour. You will also need the skills and ability to manage a complex programme of work with competing priorities, in collaboration with colleagues across the organisation and beyond. For the right person, this is an opportunity to have a real impact on the organisation and the people it serves.

In return you can expect a salary in the region of £52,000 - £65,000 p.a. for a 35 hour week, depending on skills and experience, plus a generous benefit allowance.

Please note, this role is open to either full time or part time working arrangements on a pro-rata salary basis.
