Overview

Our HR function plays a pivotal role in achieving UKRI’s vision.  Following a comprehensive review and in full consultation with all key stakeholders, we are  implementing a new HR Target Operating Model to transform the way we work, with a focus on strengthening our strategic business partnering capability, modernizing HR operational services and building up our expertise in areas such as careers and talent management, EDI,  and leadership development.

We are seeing to recruit two additional Associate Directors who will be key members of our future HR Leadership Group, providing strategic HR business partnering to some of our research councils and corporate functions.

The position

The role holders will partner with and act as trusted advisor to the Executive Chairs / Corporate Directors and their senior leadership teams in a number of our Research Councils and Corporate Functions. You, with support from a small team, will work with them to shape future strategy from a people perspective, diagnosing key talent, organization, capability and culture challenges and deploying appropriate solutions and interventions with the support of the wider HR function. You will lead change management projects across your area of responsibility as well as influence future HR strategies, policies and priorities across UKRI as a whole.

Skills, knowledge and experience required

  • Bachelors degree / Post Graduate Masters degree in HR or Organisation Development or equivalent relevant professional experience.
  • CIPD membership (Chartered or Fellow) and/or equivalent relevant professional experience.
  • Substantial HR Business Partnering experience in complex/public sector/government/ unionised settings enabling you to provide leadership to others
  • Strong collaboration skills and experience of influencing and coaching senior stakeholders and decision makers
