About the role
We have an opportunity for a talented Employee Relations Partner to join our specialist HR ER team based at our head office in Stratford-Upon-Avon.
Striving for fairness, consistency and inclusivity in your case management, you’ll take a balanced view by assessing legal, people and business risks, and promoting HR and regulatory best practice by providing expert guidance and coaching.
Become part of this specialist team who partner with the business, build strong relationships, challenge where needed, and always encourage positive change as they tackle complex HR case work.
This is a varied role. No two days will be the same. It will take a curious mind and a passion for people, to explore each problem on it’s on merits, and recommend confident credible solutions to senior stakeholders.
Your duties will include
- Influence, advise and coach as a subject matter expert on a full range of Employee Relations issues. Using your judgement to identify the appropriate risk frameworks to protect the business from legal challenge.
- Drive and co-ordinate formal and informal complex HR case work.
- Facilitate and support employment litigation processes.
- Design and deliver ER workshops, resources, toolkits and materials.
- Research and report on ER trends, risks and issues to continuously improve service
- Maintain effective consultation mechanisms with the unions and employee forum which support good employee relations.
- Maintain effective relationships with third party service providers.
What we’re looking for
Experience and Knowledge
- HR Employee Relations, case management experience gained in a corporate environment.
- Experience applying UK Employment Legislation
- Experience with contracts and contractual terms of employment
- Excellent judgement and decision-making skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills (adept at influencing and diplomacy).
- Experience with contracts and contractual terms of employment
- Experience in a Financial Services regulated environment (desirable)
Qualifications
- Degree level education or equivalent.
- CIPD Level 5 qualified.
- Driving licence desirable.

NFU Mutual are happy to offer its employees informal homeworking. Our team is located in Stratford-upon-Avon and it would be expected that on average, 50% of your working time would be located from this office, with the remaining days home based should you wish. Due to COVID-19, our employees continue to work from home and a return to the office is being planned for later in the year.
