Kingston University is going places. One of the most diverse universities in the country and named one of top 40 in country and best for design in latest Guardian University Guide league table rankings. We are passionate about enhancing our students' life chances by helping them make the most of their learning opportunity and equipping them with the skills and knowledge needed in the 21st Century's demanding workplace. We recognise that we need to continue the pace of change and to create and sustain an organisational culture that embeds new ways of working. A high-performing and customer-focused HR function is central to our future and achieving our ambitions.
We are now looking for an experienced and talented HR Business Partner to join us as the HR business partnering function is growing, to proactively meet new faculty and strategic requirements. Working in conjunction with the HR Lead and in partnership with the Senior Management Team, you will be pivotal in aligning the broader strategic plans to those within the faculty, operating as a consultant to management across the spectrum of HR issues, whilst acting as an employee champion and change agent and assessing the people impacts of the client area's goals. Your aim will be to develop integrated and commercially focused solutions that deliver value-added services.
You will be degree educated and possess recognised professional certifcation (CIPD or equivalent) or equivalent skills and experience. Successful candidates will have a proven background as a HR Business Partner, though specific experience of Higher Education is not essential and we would welcome applications from a variety of sector backgrounds. Experience of managing complex people issues in a unionised environment together with a strong coaching style approach to collaboration, dispute resolution and problem solving is also required.
Hybrid working is available, we anticipate a campus presence for 3 days a week will be required.
