Assistant Director, Human Resources and Organisational Development

Salary £112,386

London

The GLA plays a key role at the heart of London government and is responsible for policy and delivery across a range of areas that make a difference to those who live in, work in and visit the capital – this includes environment, transport, health, sport, planning, regeneration and culture.

We are looking for someone who will accelerate our work to create a more inclusive culture and workforce that is reflective of the city we serve.

This is one of the most unique HR roles on the London public sector scene.  As HR lead for the GLA and member of the senior management team, you will have the opportunity to reshape how our HR strategy is delivered as we settle into our new City Hall at the Royal Docks; test and develop our new hybrid ways of working and continue to serve the needs of the Mayor and the London Assembly in this unusually short administrative term.

The demands on our HR team to create appropriate services that meet the needs of both the organisation and our workforce have probably never been greater than they are now. You will require determination, imagination, creativity and resilience to handle the pace and the scrutiny of our work. In return, you will have a high-profile and visible platform to build on all the lessons learnt from your wide-ranging career in people management and to make a full contribution to work across the wider GLA family in our work individually and collectively to deliver leading edge HR practice.

We will offer you a supportive environment as part of the senior management team, and together, we will drive the changes required to realise the GLA’s ambitions for the people, communities, visitors, learners, and businesses of London and to be an employer of choice for our current and prospective workforce.

If you are excited by this proposition, we would be delighted to hear from you. For more information about the role, click on Apply or for a confidential conversation, contact Nancy Scott or Alex Hayes on 0113 205 6109 at GatenbySanderson.

Closing Date: Friday 1st October.
