Cheshire College South and West is the largest college in Cheshire, with three modern, vibrant campuses across the county. The college offers a wide range of Further and Higher Education programmes, as well as apprenticeships, bespoke training for businesses and programmes for international learners, and we have a significant impact on our communities, local economy and individual learners.

We have been on a successful journey since the merger of our two predecessor colleges in 2017 and we are spearheading a number of exciting initiatives, including developing a new Construction Centre and leading on an application for an Institute of Technology. Our quality of provision is strong, as evidenced in our most recent Good Ofsted grade and the college is financially sound and delivering a surplus. Our campuses have world-class inspirational facilities which are the result of a £140m investment in the latest technology, while our partnerships with an impressive range of employers are well embedded and impactful.

The college has an excellent platform to excel and reach ever-greater heights. Key to our success will be a motivational, forward-looking Executive Director of Organisational Development and Human Resources, who will join our accomplished senior leadership team and work collaboratively to develop and embed our new strategic plan. Our new postholder will lead on the creation and implementation of effective people strategies, overseeing a wide range of HR, OD and employee engagement remits, while also working closely with our Board of Governors.

This role has ample opportunity to shape policy and further develop the HR function, yet, as part of a relatively small HR team, you will also have close contact with employees across the organisation and retain a hands-on approach.

Our successful candidate will have substantial experience of leading on HR and workforce development, along with a track record of effectively managing staff in a people operations environment. Ability to support and develop managers and embed a culture of aspiration and continuous improvement is of key importance. You should bring a flexible approach to dealing with a broad HR remit, with both the ability to create strategy and the willingness to deal with operational issues. We are flexible to consider candidates from all sectors, as long as you share our passion for the transformational power of education and can lead with compassion, enthusiasm and integrity.
