D&I Talent Acquisition Lead - People & Culture Directorate (ID: 005583)

The Bank of England is the UK's central bank. Our mission is to deliver monetary and financial stability for the British people.

The Bank of England is a diverse organisation. Each of its 4,000 plus people are committed to public service and dedicated to promoting the good of the people of the United Kingdom by maintaining monetary and financial stability.

In the People and Culture (P&C) Directorate we play a pivotal role in helping to recruit, develop and retain the diverse talent that we need to deliver against the Bank’s mission to promote the good of the people of the United Kingdom. Our Talent and Development strategy is committed to investing in future skills, building diversity and inclusion, and enabling learning for all colleagues.

In July 2021 we published a Review of Ethnic Diversity & Inclusion (D&I) at the Bank. The review commissioned by the Bank’s Court (the Bank’s Governors and Non-Executive Directors) recognised that we had not made sufficient progress on the important issue of ethnic diversity and inclusion. In order to address this a set of recommendations and actions are being put in to place to embed sustained change. To support the Review’s recommendations a number of new roles have been created, including a dedicated D&I Talent Acquisition Lead who will act as a centre of expertise, helping to transform our vision in to a lived reality. This coincides with the Bank’s new strategic priority “to build a diverse and inclusive Bank” vision:

“The current global context presents both challenges and opportunities, and the Bank needs to be human, humble and in step with the changing world to respond effectively. We need leaders who embody this ambition, and a truly inclusive culture to enable all colleagues to unlock their potential. We do this because it is the right thing to do and will make us even more effective as an organisation, now and for the future.”
