The role

People Services is committed to providing The Open University with high quality people solutions and is valued for its efficiency, expertise, partnering capability and service. We are currently looking for a confident, motivated OD professional who with experience and expertise in organisation design to support the OU’s Associate Lecturer Programme. You will work in partnership with a team of practitioners to facilitate and lead design activities that emerge from the stakeholder engagement activity.

This new role will entail working on large scale design work in a complex and unionised environment. You will need to partner extensively across the wider organisation as conversations about organisation design for the AL Programme are expected to impact and be impacted by organisation design across the wider organisational landscape.

We are happy to offer both flexible and remote working opportunities for this new opportunity, although there will be a requirement to attend onsite meetings in Milton Keynes if required on an ad-hoc basis.

Skills and experience

This role will suit you if you:

  • Possess a good understanding of organisation design; methodologies, frameworks and tools
  • Are confident in creating design plans and supporting the delivery as well as interrogating, analysing and supporting the development of target operating models
  • Are able to lead and work in complex organisations, effectively partnering with other departments and groups
  • Possess excellent communication skills, being able to confidently liaise and manage stakeholder expectations
