My exclusive client are an SME manufacturer who supply to businesses globally from their site in Hamble-le-Rice, nr Southampton.

The company have aspirations to be a leader in their field following significant recent investment and commitment from their parent company.

Your new role

As a Learning and Development and Organisational Development Officer (L&D / OD Officer), you will report to an experienced HR Director with support from a wider HR team. This is a new role to the business based in Hamble-le-Rice, nr Southampton.

This position is 80% focused on L&D / training including running apprenticeship programs, vs 20% OD including workforce planning, analytics and identifying skills gaps / critical skills.

Purpose of the role:

To contribute to the design and delivery of people focused, organisational development strategies and learning activities in support of the organisation's strategic and operational plans, providing information, advice and services as required. Working with teams across the business, but particularly HR and Operations, to address employee demographics through planned recruitment and development / training.

You will create an energetic and exciting learning / training environment across the business and in partnership with Managers to ensure that they work towards improving knowledge, skills and behaviours that are needed to drive our business forward.

What you'll need to succeed

This role will suit an L&D professional who has some knowledge of OD as above, or someone who is keen to develop this knowledge within a progressive business. My client will also consider a HR generalist who is interested in moving across to L&D / OD.

You must have 2+ years' experience in an L&D / OD / HR function or role and be ILM or CIPD qualified (Level 3 minimum). A good knowledge of Microsoft products, including Word, Excel, Outlook and Power Point are also required.
