Brathay Trust is a long-established charity based in the Lake District working to deliver life-changing community programmes every year to thousands of young people and families in real need. Our main office is Brathay Hall, near Ambleside, but our charity programmes are mainly delivered in communities like Bradford, Barrow and Wigan.

The programmes we deliver are funded through the income generated by our other non-profit enterprises, most of which take place at Brathay Hall. These include: corporate training courses for businesses; the Windermere Marathon and other challenge events; outdoor residentials for schools, and B&B and holiday accommodation.

There are 100+ staff currently, plus the charity’s Board of Trustees; a host of wiling volunteers, and various partner organisations that team up with us to deliver some of our programmes. As a charity, no-one gets rich working for Brathay, but because there are so many strands to the organisation it is an interesting and friendly place to be, with an opportunity to work alongside colleagues with different experiences, backgrounds, expertise and perspectives. It makes for a dynamic and ever-changing work environment with the added bonus that everyone is working collectively towards a worthwhile and meaningful cause.
