Job Details
We’re making a difference, can you?
Dixons are seeking to appoint a Chief People Officer to contribute to the leadership of its next stage of growth and development.
This is a challenging role requiring an experienced leader with a track record of success, strong interpersonal skills, an adaptive approach and a strategic mindset. The successful candidate will be passionate about making a tangible difference in children’s lives, particularly those facing educational and social disadvantage in the North.
The new CPO will contribute to an engaged, entrepreneurial leadership team during a period of rapid expansion, and will ideally have previous experience of growing organisations of a similarly complex nature.
Due to the growing geographic spread of our organisation, there will be the requirement to travel around and between West Yorkshire and the North West. A hybrid approach to office / home working can provide some flexibility whilst opening this opportunity to potential candidates from across the north of England.
Why choose Dixons Academies Trust?
Dixons Academies Trust is a well-established multi-academy trust with a strong reputation of delivering high-quality education in its fourteen schools, currently serving the communities of Bradford, Leeds and Liverpool. Our mission is to challenge educational and social disadvantage in the North; all of our academies serve areas of deprivation and communities with higher levels of students eligible for Free School Meals or with Special Educational Needs than the national average.
We establish high-performing non-faith academies which maximise attainment, value diversity, develop character and build cultural capital. By the age of 18 we want every student to have the choice of university or a high quality apprenticeship.
- Values driven
- 30 years of challenging educational and social disadvantage
- Ambitious for every child and highly inclusive
- Always in the top 5 nationally for progress at secondary
- Committed to recruiting a diverse workforce
- Exceptional colleagues will support you to be your best
- Low staff turnover

Company
Dixons Academies Trust is a multi-academy (charitable) trust in the north of England. At Dixons, our mission is to challenge educational and social disadvantage in the north. We establish high-performing non-faith academies which maximise attainment, value diversity, develop character and build cultural capital. By the age of 18, we want every student to have the choice of university or a high-quality apprenticeship.
Currently, Dixons educates over 12,000 students across 14 schools in Bradford, Leeds and Liverpool: 3 primaries, 8 secondaries, 2 all-throughand one standalone sixth form. In 2021-22, we will expand into Manchester, and we aim to educate 20,000 students across the north by 2025. This will mean an expansion of around two schools per year for the next four years through a combination of new free schools and turnaround academies.
