Your new company
A financial institution based in Edinburgh now requires a People Business Partner on a 12 month FTC to join their business to support during a secondment. This role will be fully remote, however may require an occasional office presence for purposeful meetings.
Your new role
* Partnering with Senior Leadership Teams to create and deliver people plans that support the functional business plans and are aligned to the Bank and Group people priorities
* Be a coach and trusted advisor enabling the business to solve competitive and strategic issues within legal and risk guidelines and reaching agreement through stakeholder management and influencing
* Facilitating the Bank-wide talent and succession planning processes with aligned business areas, providing insight and challenge to ensure we develop a diverse pipeline of future leaders
* Working with senior leadership teams to plan and implement change programmes effectively in line with agreed frameworks
* Understand the external environment, identify threats and opportunities and offer independent and constructive challenge
* Working collaboratively with Centres of Expertise and business areas to ensure core people practices are delivered on time and to a high standard
* Leading business engagement on significant change driven by the people team - providing advocacy, leadership and challenge
* Proactively sharing business insights with the wider people team to ensure centres of expertise can consider this in their planning and prioritisation
* Contracting effectively with the Project Planning team to deliver specific projects for aligned business areas on time and to a high standard
* Leading and executing organisation -wide people projects as appropriate.
* Providing leadership and development support to aligned People Partner(s) to maximise capability and support succession planning in the People Team
* Pro-actively identify and manage risks and issues within People Partner team, ensuring these are within Bank's risk appetite tolerance & that relevant regulations (eg SMCR) and legislation are complied with.
* Acting as an advocate of the Colleague Experience service model and encouraging all leaders in the business to access our services appropriately
What you'll need to succeed
* Experience of people partnering / consulting in a Business Partnering capacity
* Significant experience of contracting with senior stakeholders at Director and Executive levels
* Experience of managing and executing complex & multi-faceted programmes of work on an organisation - wide basis In depth knowledge of HR practices Best practice knowledge and the ability to translate to fit organisational culture CIPD qualified (desirable)
* Excellent organisational skills Excellent project management skills Ability to balance strategic & operational people priorities
* Highly effective communication, coaching, & stakeholder management skills
* Strong leadership & influencing skills
