Location: Bosham

Salary Range: Starting £53,617 per annum - (contribution assessed salary range up to £61,526)
Hours: Full Time
Contract: Permanent

We are looking for an experienced and motivated People Director with a passion for leadership within all HR areas. Reporting to the Chief Executive, this is a newly established role where you will lead a strategic HR approach at St Wilfrid’s Hospice, creating a clear people strategy with deliverables including succession, workforce planning and culture, including employees and volunteers.

With a focus on operational excellence and service delivery, you will be responsible for the day- to -day management and development of a small team of professionals within the People Team. You will support the People Function with dealing with complex employee relations cases and HR matters, whilst also being willing to roll your sleeves up and help out operationally.

The Hospice has ambitions to become an even greater place to work and to volunteer, and to engage with our communities to improve diversity and reach potential team members. The People Director will lead this process, working in collaboration internally and externally. Enabling our brilliant teams across the Hospice to do their very best you will work as a member of the Senior Management team, providing a healthy balance of support and challenge.

You will be an experienced People Professional with Chartered membership of the CIPD and educated to degree level or with equivalent experience. Your background will demonstrate significant and wide-ranging experience in HR Leadership roles at executive level. Your board experience across wider People functions will include an oversight and understanding of organisational development and effectiveness. You have excellent interpersonal skills, confidence in public speaking, and ability to maintain effective relationships with all levels of staff across the organisations.

As part of our committed team, the working atmosphere is friendly, inspiring and supportive.  We offer a comprehensive benefits package which includes holiday entitlement starting at 27 days per year, increasing to 33 days, plus bank holidays (pro rata).  Continuation of NHS reckonable service, or the NHS Superannuation Scheme may also be recognised.  A generous contributory pension scheme, life assurance, discounted gym membership plus a contributory cash reimbursement health plan for you and family members is also available.

We value diversity and are committed to being a place where people feel their differences are recognised and welcomed, and their needs are heard and respected.  Creating an inclusive workplace is a core part of our aim to ensure St Wilfrid’s is a great place to work and a compassionate and caring place to be.

Closing date – 5pm on Monday 22nd November 2021
