About OAT:

This is an incredible opportunity for a Human Resources professional to make a difference and join a great team of people within the supportive Head Office team of a values-led organisation. Ormiston Academies Trust (OAT) is one of the largest not-for-profit MAT's in England with almost 5,000 staff and 30,000 students. We have been around since 2009 making us one of the longest established trusts. Our mission is to be the Trust that makes the biggest difference both inside and outside the classroom.

Our vision is for all young people to have access to the highest academic, social and practical skills required to achieve their full potential, whether going on to study at a leading university or entering the world of work. We are determined to become the Trust that makes the biggest difference, both inside and outside the classroom.

OAT is a great organisation to work for. We offer:

  • excellent career prospects in a supportive environment;
  • commitment to your continued professional development;
  • LGPS pension with a generous employer contribution;
  • access to GPs and medical specialists;
  • counselling services for emotional support;
  • health, fitness and lifestyle guidance;
  • health cash plan
  • discounts on hundreds of well-known brands;
  • generous staff discounts on hundreds of well known retail and leisure brands.

Our key values are:

  • Anyone can excel: you don’t have to be exceptionally bright or naturally gifted in order to excel at something. We know hard work, determination and perseverance pay off.
  • Enjoy the challenge: just because something might be hard, it doesn’t mean it can’t be fun. We know it’s okay to face setbacks too – they can make you stronger.
  • Share what is best: if you’ve done something or created something others would benefit from seeing or having, you should share it. We know our schools keep getting better when we all share what is best.
  • Be inclusive: every child and adult should respect and accept that difference is normal, that everyone should be welcomed and included.

About the role:

You will be joining a well-established, supportive HR team that sits within the Head Office function of a not-for-profit organisation which operates across England. We need you to provide a first-class HR service to all OAT Head Office staff across a broad range of HR activities, including recruitment and induction, performance management, payroll and general HR support and advice.  We are committed to developing structured CPD and career pathways for the non-teaching support staff across the whole organisation and as this exciting opportunity to own and shape this piece of work would fall under your remit, experience of L&D would be extremely desirable. A full job description and person specification is attached.

The expectation is that you will work for 2-3 days per week from our office in Birmingham city centre and the other days from home (if preferred).

About you:

The successful candidate will be CIPD qualified or have demonstrable, relevant experience, ideally in education. You will be an excellent communicator and be able to develop positive working relationships with stakeholders in and outside of OAT.

We are committed to safeguarding and expect all our employees share our commitment. The successful applicant will be subject to an enhanced DBS check.

How to apply:

To apply, please submit your completed application and supporting statement by 12 noon on Tuesday 30 November.

For an informal discussion about the role, or if you have any additional queries, please contact the Head of Academy HR, Melanie Wheeler on melanie.wheeler@ormistonacademies.co.uk
