Overview

Our HR function plays a pivotal role in achieving UKRI’s vision. Following a comprehensive review and in full consultation with all key stakeholders, we are  implementing a new HR Operating Model to transform the way we work, with a focus on strengthening our strategic business partnering capability, modernizing HR operational services and building up our expertise in areas such as careers and talent management, EDI, and leadership development.

The Position

We are seeking to recruit a Senior Workforce EDI Manager, who will contribute to the development of Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) strategies, frameworks and initiatives for UKRI and its Councils to support the creation of a diverse and inclusive workplace.

In this role, you will act as an ambassador for EDI within UKRI. You will support the Head of Workforce EDI in developing and embedding the EDI strategic framework, as well as provide EDI related advice to staff, managers and HR colleagues as required. You will support development of EDI guidance and interactive toolkits to build UKRI EDI capability, while collecting and reviewing data against success measures to drive continuous improvement on embedding UKRI’s EDI HR plan.

Skills, knowledge and experience required

  • Experience working in an EDI team within a large, complex organisation
  • Experience of implementing and monitoring EDI interventions
  • Experience in a complex public sector/government organisational setting (desirable)
  • Excellent relationship and stakeholder management skills
  • Up to date knowledge of legislative EDI requirement, employment law, EDI practices and their role in business success and national EDI trends/agenda.
  • Strong analytical skills to develop insights and trends
  • Exceptional communication and collaboration skills and an ability to communicate complex information concisely and clearly
  • Human resources qualification or relevant professional experience.
