The Royal College of Art (RCA) is the UK’s only entirely postgraduate institution of art and design, dedicated to teaching, research and knowledge exchange with industry.  In 2021, the RCA was named the world’s leading art and design institute for the seventh consecutive year by the QS World University Rankings by Subject.   Founded in 1837, it is also the world’s oldest art and design institution in continuous operation and its most research intensive. Among its core audiences – students, artists and designers – the RCA brand is legendary. The generations of world-leading designers and artists who have studied or taught at the RCA is a roster of international repute.

Realisation of our latest strategy has seen the institution grow by 50% and in response the College is looking to expand and strengthen its professional HR team by investing in new, strategically important HR roles to influence and shape the employee experience, support and drive change and ensure excellence across all aspects of College life.

Reporting to the Deputy Director of HR as the newly created Head of Reward and Performance, through strong and professional thought leadership, you will develop competitive pay, reward, benefits and performance strategies and frameworks to enable the College’s Strategic Plan and facilitate cultural change.

You will be a highly credible, senior HR professional with significant experience of designing pay structures and approaches to performance review gained in a complex and unionised environment. You will be fully conversant in approaches to job evaluation and demonstrate a strong commitment to fair and inclusive pay and reward practices.
