Senior HR Manager – Workforce and Change

Are you an experienced and inspirational leader with a background in Human Resources? Are you looking for your next opportunity to develop your career and #bethedifference?

Wirral is home to vibrant, energetic and engaged communities, people who take real ownership of their local area and are passionate about making Wirral a better place. We’ve got ambitious targets to meet by 2025. To achieve everything we have promised to our residents, we need people who are driven and ready to deliver the very best for our communities.  Public service is more important than ever and this role represents a real opportunity to make a difference to our communities by transforming the way we work and placing our residents at the heart of everything we do.

We are looking for a Senior HR Manager focusing on Workforce and Change. This is a key leadership role in our HR/OD Team, leading, managing and facilitating an extensive and varied range of workforce change projects and programmes across the organisation. With responsibility for HR Business Partners, this role will lead the team to provide strategic advice and support to Senior Leaders and managers on workforce issues and identify solutions to deliver change effectively.

You will be a strong collaborator with the ability to influence, develop and maintain trusting relationships with a range of stakeholders to bring people together from across the Council and partner organisations.

Ultimately, you will demonstrate a commitment and enthusiasm to making a difference for residents, you will role model our values and will be an ambassador for the Council.  #BeTheDifference.

Interviews expected to take place week commencing 13 December 2021.

This position will initially, in line with current government guidance be based from home.  In future, the Council will be moving to a hybrid of working arrangements for many of our roles with a combination of homeworking, office and site working as required.

Please note that in accordance with the Council’s policy, employees who are in a formal redeployment situation will be considered in the first instance for all vacancies.

It is Council policy not to re-appoint any employee who has left under the terms of the Council's Early Voluntary Retirement (EVR) scheme or who have left with a voluntary severance (VS) package, unless in exceptional circumstances.

Applications will be accepted until midnight on the closing date.

We reserve the right to close this vacancy earlier than the specified date should we receive sufficient applications.

Applications can only be accepted through Wirral Council's Jobs page following registration. Forms received via the post will not be processed.

All applicants invited to interview must evidence their right to work in the UK. Details of required documents can be found by clicking the link at the bottom of Wirral Council's Jobs page.

The job description and other supporting documents will not be accessible once the vacancy closing date has passed so if a copy is required you should download it now.
