Head of Workforce Development, People and Culture

We are looking for a dynamic Workforce Development and People professional to join the Executive Management Team and help lead NYAS into our next stage of growth as a charity. You will need to be ambitious, visionary, creative, compassionate, and have an appreciation of the work of NYAS and the challenges faced by care experienced children and young people who NYAS support with a view to helping them change young lives.

This is a fantastic opportunity for somebody looking to make a significant contribution to creating a positive and constructive working culture which truly reflects the NYAS values.

You will have experience as a senior HR leader which includes areas such as Learning & Development and Health & Safety. Strong change management skills and TUPE knowledge will be essential. 

You will lead and advise the teams dealing with HR, Learning & Development and Health & Safety. You will also ensure that working practices and objectives provide a safe, employee-oriented, high performance culture that emphasises empowerment, quality, delivery and empathy, as well as the recruitment and ongoing development of a high calibre workforce, including volunteers and self-employed contractors.

You will be responsible for creating and implementing strategies and programmes that enhance NYAS’s culture and the overall employee experience, continuously focussing on making NYAS a great place to work.

About You

You will be an experienced HR expert looking for a new challenge, an ambitious Organisational Development professional looking to develop your skills and experience, or maybe someone who worked in the charity sector previously but has some amazing transferrable skills gained in the public or private sector?

You will be a leader who can inspire the teams to make the difference to strategic goals and vision of the Charity and a catalyst in cultivating long term links between successful recruitment, training and retention to ensure a happy and engaged workforce?

Meticulous in your approach to cultural change you will work well at both the strategic and operational level?

You will thrive in a fast paced and changing environment with flexibility to manage competing pressures on your time with creativity and agility.

You will be highly proficient in working digitally, embracing new developments in tech, whilst also confident in more traditional approaches to workforce management?
