As Learning Strategy Lead, you will play a key role in building capability across the whole organisation. You will lead projects intended to equip HMRC with the current and future skills needed to underpin ongoing success and to build, execute and sustain a culture of continuous learning.

You will also help us to identify the methodologies, tools, approaches and the Learning environment necessary to deliver our ambitions and to create a great colleague experience.

This role will give you a fantastic opportunity to:

  • lead, coach and develop a team of Learning professionals and contribute to the wider leadership of the Learning Transformation Programme;
  • facilitate the development of a robust, insight-led and contextually relevant HMRC-wide Learning and Capability Strategy and supporting plans
  • design and implement a HMRC-wide approach to Learning Needs Analysis, Skills Assessment and Learning Content;
  • advise on a new operating model and blueprint for Learning, helping to articulate the skills, capabilities and ways of working of Learning teams today and the future;
  • shape, share and engage in the HMRC Learning Transformation story and work collaboratively with colleagues internally and across government.

You will need the following skills and experience:

  • Experienced Learning professional with expertise and a passion for Learning trends, technologies and innovations.
  • An inclusive and empowering leadership style.
  • Evidence of developing and implementing Learning Strategy in a large and/or complex organisation.
  • Experience of designing and implementing innovative Learning plans or interventions.
  • Strong partnering and consultancy skills with the ability to grasp diverse customer needs and find collaborative, best fit solutions.
  • Outstanding communication skills and the ability to influence and negotiate effectively, persuasively, and sensitively.
  • Resilient, with the ability to quickly adapt and respond to changing circumstances or priorities and operate in an environment of change and ambiguity.
  • A growth mind-set, a curiosity to learn and grow yourself, learn from mistakes and open to new ideas and challenge.
