One of the UK’s leading independent estate agency groups are looking to appoint an HR Director to lead their people agenda, taking responsibility for ensuring the company is a first class employer by driving strategic and operational excellence through all areas of the business from Financial Services to Estate Agency and Lettings. As HRD,  you will shape & lead the HR function and make your mark overseeing specialist HR teams including, Performance/Employee Relations, Recruitment and Learning & Development. Your focus will be on delivering highly effective HR services; shaping the function, seeking process improvement, modernisation and harmonisation, along with embedding a high-performance culture throughout the Group and working with the EMT to reduce staff attrition and drive up productivity which is fundamental to the delivery of the Group’s ambitious 5 year plan.

This is predominately a sales environment and therefore you will need both a thick skin and the conviction to follow through on best practice. The role will never be dull with no two days being the same. You will be responsible for delivering the worst and best of news, dealing with employee relations, counselling strong willed senior managers, balancing best practice with commercial pressures, getting buy-in on people strategies from senior management and persuading employees to change their workplace fundamentals for the greater good.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in an executive HR role within a multi-faceted, multi location company ideally from either the retail, estate agency or recruitment sectors. You will be someone who wants to make their mark, move the business from reactive to proactive and have successfully navigated periods of significant change with previous employers.  You will be an expert in showcasing vision, direction and purpose with exceptional communication skills to present ideas and concepts effectively with transparency and integrity to a diverse audience. You will be comfortable operating at speed and pace offering innovative people solutions using complex influencing strategies and be someone who thinks strategically and delivers operationally.  Chartered / Fellow MCIPD ideally
