An influential L&D Manager to join a market leader offering hybrid working - remote / Southampton office.

Your new company

My exclusive client are one of the UK's leading independent metal providers, employing over 480 employees across multiple locations in the UK and Ireland. The business are part of a larger group of companies are are the largest both in size and annual turnover.

Your new role

As L&D Manager, you will report to an experienced Group L&D Manager and enjoy a varied, autonomous role.


* Identify, plan and implement learning programmes across the business
* Provide a range of L&D programmes aligned to the needs of the business
* Provide managers with the means to ensure each employee understands what's expected of them and have the skills / tools to balance demand and support
* Fully utilise the opportunities that the company LMS offers in providing, supporting and measuring the effectiveness of learning programmes
* Support the building and development of a pipeline of quality people and deploy retention strategies
* Lead the team, taking a collaborative approach in working with the Brand & Culture Manager and 1 x direct report (marketing / L&D colleague)

Working hours are 37.5 / week, 8.30am-5pm - Monday-Friday. As mentioned above, this role offers hybrid working: 3 days remote vs 2 days office (Southampton) / week, with occasional travel to London / Birmingham offices (once every couple of months).

What you'll need to succeed

You must have a strong working knowledge of Learning Management Systems (LMS), with experience in creating and developing blended learning solutions - particularly e-learning products, courses, podcasts etc. An ILM or CIPD qualification will be an advantage, but it not essential.

The successful candidate will also have the ability to be hands-on in the development of new learning solutions and updating of existing, having the capability and gravitas to personally deliver training courses.
