At the MS Society, we make sure people living with MS are at the centre of everything we do. And it’s this commitment that unites us across the UK.

Our work is based on the hopes and aspirations of our MS community. Together we campaign at all levels, fund ground-breaking research and provide award winning support and information.

Our people are our greatest asset and the key to our success. We offer a vibrant, progressive environment where you will make a difference.

About this job

Over the last two years, the MS Society has undergone a significant transformation in our approach to employee engagement and our Head of HR will take responsibility for driving forward our new ambitious employee engagement strategy and make sure that the MS Society is recognised as a fantastic and fully inclusive place to work where our employees are engaged and motivated to achieve the best possible impact for people affected by MS.

You’ll be passionate about creating a working environment where staff are empowered to challenge the status quo and contributing to improve the way we do things – where staff are recognized as experts in their role, and most often know how things can be done better.  You’ll be driven to create a work environment that is inclusive and characterized by passion to improve the lives of people affected by MS, fair treatment of employees, open communications, personal accountability, trust and mutual respect.

You’ll be working closely with our HR team and our key implementation team for our employment engagement strategy including our:

•           Executive Director of Corporate Services

•           Head of Internal Communications

•           EDI Programme Manager

•           Head of Strategy and Business Intelligence

And you’ll also work closely with colleagues at all levels of the MS Society, the Executive Group and People Committee as our HR expert and as our point of contact for employee related topics, addressing and resolving requests, concerns and enquiries in a sensitive way.

You’ll be highly experienced in designing and delivering excellence within employee engagement, and leading and supporting important transformational, organisational change as well as being very experienced in getting the basics right by developing and continuously improving our HR infrastructure, policies, systems and processes.

You’ll have experience of engaging and truly listening to colleagues and subsequently taking action or openly explaining why action isn’t being taken.

We offer 35 days annual leave (pro rata for part time employees) including bank holidays, travel loan and various other benefits such as supported developmental opportunities.

The MS Society is in the midst of an exciting, transformational, period which builds on our great history and will drive us towards achieving our mission and vision as we embark on our Every MS Story strategy.
