As our HR/OD lead you will be front and centre of driving the delivery of these plans through our people and culture. We have a new People Strategy and are working hard with co-workers to shape the delivery and bring our values to life. As a natural collaborator and inspiring and visible leader, you’ll influence at every level, encouraging an employee-focused and enabling culture that emphasises empowerment, outcomes and empathy and helps everyone feel proud to work for the Council.

You’ll need to be able to roll your sleeves up, too – you'll be leading a small team, delivering all aspects of HR, OD, L&D and payroll, so will need to love operational delivery and have a strong set of technical skills, coupled with sound judgement,

As the Council’s lead practitioner, you’ll bring a breadth and depth of experience, as well as Chartered CIPD membership. But equally important will be your enthusiasm, your curiosity, your tenacity and your drive to make a difference.

We believe in smarter, flexible working and whilst right now we are working from home where we can, we have plans to move to a hybrid style of working, combining home working, off site working and office-based working, helping people make choices about how they do their best work.
