As the home of The Royal Ballet and The Royal Opera, at the Royal Opera House we want many more people to enjoy and engage in exceptional ballet and opera.

This is a senior strategic HR Business Partner role working to support internal customers with a full range of HR interventions. The post-holder will also lead on the development and implementation of the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion and talent management strategies, including oversight of our innovative apprenticeship, work experience and volunteer programmes.  They will further embed diversity and inclusion at the heart of our people management practices and support managers to establish a culture where diversity is genuinely valued and promoted.

 

The successful candidate will demonstrate the following:

  • Significant Human Resources Business Partner experience in a leadership role across an appropriately-sized and complex organisation;
  • Chartered-level membership of the CIPD or equivalent experience; 
  • A demonstrable track record of developing and delivering progressive Human Resources strategies that have resulted in proven step change improvements in delivery, with the ability to anticipate needs and build organisational capacity;
  • Experience of talent development and retention;
  • Evidence of a developed commitment to the principles of diversity and inclusion and their practical application and integration in the work environment;
  • Experience of working effectively and collaboratively as a member of a leadership team, with the ability to establish professional credibility quickly with colleagues, and to interact effectively with staff at all levels and across all departments; 
  • An adaptable, collaborative and persuasive leadership style and approach that will inspire the trust and commitment of others, with strong communication, negotiation and influencing skills;

A clear passion for the ROH’s commitment to enrich people’s lives and promote the wider interests of cultural learning, ballet, dance, opera, music and the arts in general, would be beneficial.
