Whether you’re one of our Social Workers or work in our Corporate teams, like HR, then everyone as a critical role to play. And so, if you join us as Trainee HR Officer, you’ll see further references to ‘Together’ as this is the name of our new relationship-based practice framework.

Location, location, location.
So that we can ensure you have access to the colleagues best positioned to support you, not only during your induction but beyond, you will ideally be based within fairly close proximity to our offices in Coventry, Birmingham, Leicester or Derby although we are flexible on your location and you are unlikely to be required to be in the office extensively.

If you join us you will be part of a busy, inclusive team that plays an important role in partnering with Managers across the organisation to deliver outstanding frontline services which in turn helps achieve the best possible outcomes for children.

You will gain invaluable practical insight and experience spanning the employee life cycle within a talented, inclusive team that will give you a platform to develop professionally.

In terms of what we are looking for:

  • You will have a degree level qualification (or equivalent) and/or CIPD professional qualification (or working towards one)
  • Practical experience of working in a HR environment undertaking across a broad range of HR activities, potentially as a HR Administrator or Assistant or similar
  • Excellent communication skills (written and oral) that enable you to have effective working relationships with a broad range of internal stakeholders
  • Demonstrate you are able to use HR data to identify trends to make recommendations
  • A clear commitment to developing your career within HR
  • Experience of managing and prioritising your workload, working with minimal instruction and achieving targets within required timescales
  • Demonstrate personal resilience and organisational skills to manage yourself and others.
