Your new company
Our client is a charity based in Edinburgh who delivers care, support and education for disabled children and adults across Scotland. They are looking for an experienced HR Advisor to join their team with immediate effect on a 6 month temporary contract and the role will be remote.
Your new role
You will provide advice on a range of HR policies and procedures, in a variety of environments (e.g. care, retail, education), regarding an existing or potential issue or set of circumstances. This will cover areas from recruitment through to dismissal including pre and post employment referencing issues.
You will advise and assist managers in preparing for difficult or sensitive meetings including selection interviews, stress risk assessments, absence reviews, discipline or grievance hearings, as well as individual or group consultations regarding redundancy with staff.
You will update or create identified policies and procedures (including associated template letters, forms, guidance) to reflect changes in legislation, good practice and organisational requirements for approval by HR Manager.
You may be required to recruit, manage and support HR Assistants (or other staff) in the delivery of their role. You will offer appropriate development opportunities as and when they arise, and will recommend suitable training courses to the HR Manager. You will also conduct performance appraisals as and when required.
What you'll need to succeed
Experience in a HR Advisory role.
Experience with HR policies and procedures, investigations, case management and recruitment.
Experience working within a charity is not essential but desirable.
