Do you want to help make the world a better place with your expertise in global benefits practice? We are seeking an innovative and strategic Global Compensation Project Manager based in London or Nairobi to drive the development of the overall employee benefit strategy. This is a fixed-term position for a period of 18 months.

The Open Society Foundations (OSF) work to build vibrant and inclusive democracies whose governments are accountable and open to the participation of all people. We are active in more than 120 countries, making us the world’s largest private funder of independent groups working for justice, democratic governance, and human rights.

The Human Resources (HR) team, comprised of 60 members, sits in our Berlin, London and New York offices and supports OSF staff across the global network of foundations, in over 40 countries. The team is comprised of generalists spanning the North America, Latin America, Europe, Eurasia, Middle East, Africa, South West Asia, and Asia Pacific regions, as well as HR specialists comprised of Talent Development, Human Resources Information System (HRIS), Compensation & Benefits, Diversity and Inclusion, and Recruitment.

As a Global Compensation Project Manager at Open Society, you will:

  • Lead and manage benefits initiatives to advance the global benefits strategy, ensuring effective governance and competitive programs across the globe
  • Research, evaluate, benchmark, and make recommendations for benefits renewals, new benefits, and changes across various countries, including new offices
  • Monitor and analyze trends related to benefits and the global external market, such as government regulations, market data/surveys, and competitive practices to forecast the impact on OSF; ensure benefit offerings remain competitive and legally compliant
  • Evaluate and monitor brokers/vendors to ensure appropriate levels of service; oversee negotiation of contract renewals, including reviewing Requests for Proposals
  • Partner with HR colleagues and other Compensation and Benefits team members to deliver an outstanding and seamless experience for all employees
  • Collaborate with other functions in areas such as legal and finance, to build new programs, manage risk to the company, and understand legal implications to policy or design changes

  • Significant progressive benefits responsibility in multinational organizations, leading multiple facets of benefits strategy, design, and administration across multiple countries
  • Unparalleled organizational, project management, communication, and customer service skills
  • Ability to proactively and continually collaborate with clients and colleagues to ensure successful resolution of issues
  • Ability to manage multiple projects while working under pressure to meet deadlines
  • Strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills
  • Willingness to travel internationally as required
  • Commitment to continuous learning and growth in the areas of diversity, equity, inclusion, antiracism and social justice
  • Commitment to listening and working with humility; ways of working that are respectful to all people; and that support space and voice for all diverse perspectives in our workplace

Desirable (but not essential):

  • Master’s degree in HR or related field highly desirable
  • Certification in benefits
  • Familiarity with Workday (HRIS)
  • Experience in non-profit or foundations is a plus
