This is an exciting time to join our HR team as we have recently embarked upon a period of transformation to better reflect the business needs of the policing service that we support. Our multi-disciplined HR team delivers to a collaboration of local forces and departments with wide ranging priorities and we are imbedding an ambitious new operating model that provides strategic oversight and supports local working.

As a member of our Consultancy Team, you will be responsible for our more complex cases and provide HR customers with access to expert advice and guidance on a wide variety of employment matters including complex pay matters, contract variations, attendance, conduct, performance, grievances and restructuring. This particular role supports the Bedfordshire Police and our Eastern Region Specialist Operations Unit and our local base enables us to establish effective working relationships with managers
Reporting to the Senior HR Consultant, you will work independently and manage your own portfolio of case work. Taking ownership and accountability for supporting managers in their allocated business area, you will work proactively towards a satisfactory outcome of casework. Your aim will be to encourage managers to become self-supporting in employment matters, providing upskill and development as required. Digitally focussed, you will identify areas where improvements can be made to both guidance and processes.
We are looking for a problem solver with a proven track record of applying HR policies and providing expert advice on a high level of case work including employee relations, change management and other HR matters requiring professional input in-depth working. You will be a confident communicator with the ability to prepare and deliver complex HR information and advice to a range of different audiences. Customer focussed, you will always see the bigger picture, be innovative in your thinking and collaborative in your approach.

Agile working available and travel across our sites in Cambridgeshire, Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire will be required.
