We are looking for an Interim Head of People to join Samaritans on a 6 month fixed term contract. As Head of People, you’ll line manage a People Business Partner and a Talent & Resourcing Manager, with overall responsibility for leading a team of six individuals who cover people advisory, recruitment, ER support, onboarding, pay, performance, and change management processes.

As Head of People, you’ll lead and inspire our People team to deliver exceptional support to staff at Samaritans. You’ll be a subject matter expert and senior trusted advisor on all people matters. You’ll lead the delivery of HR and Resourcing and report into the Executive Director for Corporate Services. This role is also the staff lead for the People Committee, a subcommittee of the board of trustees.

  • Hybrid working – ‘linked’ to our Ewell (Surrey) office, with choice to work from the office or from home. There will be a minimal requirement for office-based days
