Starting Salary: £30,639 rising to £34,045
Full Time, Permanent - 35 hours per week

Southway Housing Trust is a community-based housing organisation committed to providing high quality services to the people and neighbourhoods that we work in. We are a "not-for-profit" landlord, based in Didsbury, managing and improving approximately 6,000 homes in South Manchester and partway through a programme of creating 800 new homes.

The role
This is a fantastic opportunity for a HR Advisor to join our busy HR Operational team based in Didsbury, Manchester. Our HR team is growing, and we are looking for a HR Advisor to report into our Head of HR. You will be part of a HR function providing exceptional HR service with high standards of advice and support.
As HR Advisor you will steer, support and advise people leaders on:
* Managing ER cases from start to end. This can include performance, absence, grievance and disciplinary topics.
* Recruitment activities - attending interviews, assessment days and onboarding
* The leavers process, including exit interviews, absence management cases and measures
* First point of contact - advising HR issues for around 260 colleagues.
* Running regular meetings with people managers
* Measures to improve employee wellbeing
* Processing contractual changes
* Where appropriate, HR projects.

What we're looking for
* A people person: you will be driven, highly motivated and committed to excellence as well as resilient, providing a calm, patient and supportive influence
* CIPD Level 5 qualification or relevant work experience
* Practical up to date knowledge of HR processes and best practice and UK employment law
* A passion for continuous improvement with a focus on digital transformation.
* Practical knowledge of MHR iTrent is desirable but not essential
* Ability to deal with complexity and change management in a positive and proactive manner
* Good communication skills, both written and verbal
* A team player with strong relationship building and stakeholder management skills based on trust and transparency
* Experience in supporting HR projects and line manager training is desirable but not essential.
