Our new senior talent scheme - Discover DWP - is designed to increase DWP’s leadership diversity. We aim to support talented individuals who will bring fresh thinking and perspective along with a desire to build a career in the Senior Civil Service. We are particularly looking for people with an interest in the HR and Policy professions to become our future leaders.

DWP operates on a scale unmatched anywhere in Europe; virtually every person in Britain will come into contact with us at some point in their lives.  This scheme provides a real insight into life, culture and leadership at the department, and how to join us. The scheme runs from June 2022 for 12 months and consists of virtual sessions, lasting approximately 1-2 hours once a month. The scheme covers a range of modules, focusing on leadership skills, application tips and interview techniques, briefings from senior leaders within Government, and bespoke learning sessions tailored to your needs.

Our Government should represent the breadth of our geography, therefore we particularly want to hear from those who are outside of London. The scheme will equip you with the resources, learning opportunities and insight to apply for and transition into the Senior Civil Service.
