Do you have a passion for supporting colleagues to deliver inclusive services and share best practice examples? Could you help us celebrate our successes and strive to do even more as an inclusive employer and service provider? Would you like to be in a role where you can continually learn and grow?
If so we would love for you to join us at Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council in our policy team as a policy officer (equality, diversity and inclusivity (edi)). As well as being our corporate edi lead this role also has a pivotal role in our work on safeguarding and community engagement through consultation. This broad and exciting remit will enable you to build on existing skills and develop new ones as you work with colleagues across the organisation to keep people at the heart of everything we do.
You will have a strong background in equality, diversity and inclusivity, with legislative knowledge but also experience of delivery and creating positive change. Your new ideas will help us to continue to challenge ourselves to be even better, but you will be joining an organisation with inclusivity at its heart with many examples of excellent practice in this area.
You will be part of a small but dedicated team who support services across the organisation through the expert knowledge and information they provide. You will regularly work alongside many of our 560 staff on an ongoing basis to share your knowledge and learn from others and will be a trusted expert for councillors, senior leaders, managers and staff.
Our staff matter to us, so if you join our team you will benefit from a working culture designed to support your wellbeing including hybrid working with the ability to work from home on average twice a week. As well as a rewarding career, your offer would include a wide range of benefits, including a generous leave entitlement, access to discounts at nationwide retailers through our ‘B Rewarded’ discount site, flexible working, healthcare cash plan, pension scheme and much more.
