As we enter our next ambitious phase of change and continue on our transformation journey, we are now looking for an experienced and highly motivated HR leader to join our HR leadership team. This exciting opportunity is a key role in ensuring our Human Resources and Organisation Development service provides effective support to enable us to deliver our priorities and the ambitions we have set out in ‘Our Manchester Strategy’.

Reporting to the Director of Human Resources and Organisation Development and working in partnership with the Head of OD and others, you will lead and manage the operational HR team, developing and embedding a positive, collaborative and high performing team, ensuring excellent services and high-quality HR advice and guidance is provided to managers and stakeholders. You will actively contribute to the overall strategic direction of the service and lead on major HR projects building on our strong organisational values.  More than anything, you will make sure our fantastic people thrive and develop within the HR service.

Through your substantial knowledge and experience as an HR generalist, you will act as a senior source of expert HR advice across a range of activities which includes resourcing, payroll, employee life cycle, employee relations and policy. The successful candidate will possess sound knowledge and understanding of day-to-day HR operations, have excellent leadership and people management skills and be confident in dealing with a range of challenging stakeholders. You will be a team player, highly motivated and resilient with the ability to be able to energetically lead, motivate and inspire.
