As Engagement and Directorate Support Officer, you can make your own contribution.
At Westminster City Council, we embrace a culture of continuous improvement. We are always looking for ways in which we can work more efficiently and drive optimum results for our local community. As such, it is vital that we deliver organisation development and culture programmes that will drive the best possible employee engagement, performance and wellbeing – and it is here that you could find an excellent opportunity to develop your own skills and further your career.
Playing an instrumental role in the Business Support Function, you will work with a wide range of colleagues including the Senior Management Team (SMT) to deliver the engagement action plan for our vital ‘Innovation and Change’ (I&C) initiative. Building profiles and leading communications, you will actively engage with staff and stakeholders to promote the Westminster Way of working, and the purpose, scope and objectives of the Innovation and Change department within Westminster City Council. Helping influence and shape good practice in our diversity and inclusion priorities, plus best practice in recruitment and resourcing, you will be a trusted advisor to the team, particularly as you will regularly assess the effectiveness of your engagement activities, and modify them accordingly.
Providing regular updates and business support to the SMT, this is a role that has great visibility – and the scope to further your own career is therefore immense. Every day will present you with new challenges, such as promoting our Wellbeing Pioneers and Inclusion & Diversity Champions, and shaping robust induction plans for new starters. Whether promoting mandatory learning activities or coordinating I&C’s involvement in graduate and apprentice schemes, this is a multi-layered role that will require exceptional organisational skills and a sharp eye for detail.
