East Suffolk Council is an exciting place to work and a great place to make a real difference to people’s lives, delivering vital services to a quarter of a million people across East Suffolk.

Are you an experienced HR Business Partner looking for a new challenge in a forward-thinking organisation?

If so, we have a fantastic opportunity for you to join our established and friendly team, working collaboratively to contribute toward the council’s strategic objectives.

You will promote people management excellence across the council, delivering change programmes and projects, shaping HR policy, and coaching, supporting and challenging managers. You will manage complex HR casework to conclusion, taking a proactive approach in cases of discipline, performance, sickness absence, capability, grievance, bullying and harassment and occupational health.

One unique and exciting project you will be involved in is the transfer of services into our new trading company, East Suffolk Services. This will be an ‘arms-length’ commercial business delivering services such as waste, recycling collection, grounds maintenance and street cleansing on behalf of East Suffolk Council. You will be involved in advising on people-related implications, supporting a large-scale TUPE exercise, change management including consultation and communication, and shaping HR policy for the new company moving forward.

You will be CIPD Level 7 qualified and have relevant operational and strategic HR experience, up to date knowledge of employment legislation and a proven track record of successfully dealing with varied and complex people management issues. You will also have excellent interpersonal skills, be customer-focused, tenacious, flexible, and embrace teamwork.
