This is an exciting time to join the Funding Team as it makes a key contribution in NatureScot’s response to the dual challenges of biodiversity loss and the climate emergency. Our funding activity has seen a number of developments in recent years as we have shifted from supporting many long-standing relationships to focus on targeted, time-limited challenge funds that deliver on our corporate priorities. Looking ahead, funding activity and therefore this role, will continue to develop as we seek to protect, restore and value nature for the benefit of all whilst contributing to the green recovery.

The funding manager will have the opportunity to be involved in these developments from the outset. This role will focus on the management of the Nature Restoration Fund, launched in 21/22. The fund will expand considerably this coming year with a team of funding officers now in place to support this key funding activity.

NatureScot is Scotland’s nature agency with 30 years’ experience advising the Scottish Government. Scotland’s nature and landscapes are among our greatest assets. We work to improve our natural environment in Scotland and inspire everyone to care more about it so that all nature in Scotland – our key habitats and landscapes, all our green space and our native species – is maintained and enhanced.

If you have the passion, inspiration and expertise to help put nature at the heart of Scotland’s future, we look forward to receiving your application.

Visit Nature.Scot for details of this and other exciting opportunities.

Nature is vital to all of us, so it is vital that we are an organisation for all of Scotland. The more diverse NatureScot is, the better we will be in connecting everyone with nature. We particularly encourage applications from people from Minority Ethnic (ME) backgrounds and people with a disability.
