We are seeking a HR Manager to provide maternity cover within our HR Team.  The successful candidate will be able to deliver a people-focussed, high-quality service that supports our workforce. 

The role is responsible for the day-to-day delivery of HR services to the company, maintaining and developing internal procedures, supporting recruitment and retention activities, handling employee related issues and keeping performance at peak levels. 

The role is available from the start of August 2022 until the end of February 2023.

Main responsibilities include: -

Recruitment and Workforce Planning

Recruitment will be a focus for this role, as the company is currently going through an exciting period of expansion.  This role will have overall responsibility for the recruitment process, collaborating with hiring managers across the business and working with the HR Advisor to deliver a smooth and effective recruitment process.


Work with department heads and the HR Advisor to run an excellent induction process, ensuring new joiners are effectively onboarded and able to hit the ground running as soon as possible. 

Leaver Process

Conduct exit interviews with leavers and oversee the completion of the offboarding process as carried out by HR Advisor

Performance Management/Career Development & Training

Communicate with management at the time of mid and end of year reviews with reminders and guidance.  Review the outcomes of review meetings, arrange for extra support where needed and ensure success is celebrated where it has been achieved.  Liaise with management following the performance review process to discuss training needs within their teams.

Employee Relations

Manage complex employee relations casework including dispute resolutions, disciplinaries, grievances, absence, retirement, and redundancy as required.  Advise managers on the terms and conditions of employment and knowledge share best practice with them.  Work with managers to manage poor performance situations.

People Policies & Procedures

Ensure all internal people processes are delivered effectively.  Ensure all staff-related policies and procedures are communicated effectively.

Internal Communications

Create and circulate engaging internal communications as required.

Culture & Wellbeing

Work with the HR Advisor to deliver the company Wellbeing strategy.  Review and report on the performance of wellbeing strategy/initiatives.  Plan and deliver staff social events as per annual calendar in collaboration with HR Advisor.

People Management

Provide supervision and training on best practice to HR Advisor as required.

Your Knowledge & Experience

  • Qualified to CIPD Level 5
  • Proven HR generalist experience of 3-5 years
  • Solid knowledge of employment legislation and its application
