Job Details

Your new company
This is an opportunity to join one of our NHS customers on an interim basis to take on a crucial HR leadership role within an agile and fast paced delivery team. You can work from anywhere within the UK to be considered for this role but you must have the right to work in the UK and you cannot access the NHS systems from outside of the UK, therefore remote work from another country would not be considered.

This part of the NHS has taken a lead role in the mobilisation of services in rapid circumstances to support the NHS with the Covid-19 Pandemic and ongoing public health matters. Every day is different within this service and the HR team of circa 9 pivot across a range of responsibilities to ensure a smooth and functional HR service is ran.

Your new role
As Head of HR, your overall responsibility will be to ensure operational effectiveness of the HR service that looks after circa 400 directly employed employees. Reporting to the Director of Operations for the service, you will act as a trusted advisor and be involved at board level conversations to understand upcoming requirements within resourcing, mobilisation of new services, demobilisation or changes to existing services and contracts, you will be expected to craft effective and cost effective HR solutions that meet the standards of the NHS guidelines and business requirements.

You will manage the HR team for this division which consists of 9 heads across Resourcing, HR Operations, Workforce Planning and a HR Business Partner.

What you'll need to succeed
Our client is looking for a Senior HR BP/Head of HR from within the NHS or who has extensive knowledge and understanding of the internal processes within the NHS and the wider relationships with the likes of NHS England and the Government. It is essential that you are someone who can work in a fast paced, changing environment that will require you to roll up your sleeves and muck in when required. You must be a confident communicator and decisive decision maker who can manage internal and external senior/high profile stakeholder relationships and can push back in a firm but professional manner.
