Nottinghamshire is ambitious for its residents and recognises its employees are key to the successful delivery of these aspirations. This opportunity to lead and develop modern, innovative people and organisational development strategies has arisen due to the retirement of the current post holder.
The Head of HR role covers all aspects of HR, from workforce planning to organisational development to HR operations and equalities, in addition to delivering sold services to over 180 schools.
The post holder must hold CIPD membership and have extensive experience of HR leadership in local government or similar large, complex organisations. Leading change, driving service delivery, and managing senior customer relationships are all key requirements. In addition, strong influencing and negotiating skills and the ability to work effectively in partnership with key stakeholders are essential to success in the role.
We are at a pivotal moment, currently seeking a devolution deal from central Government which will bring significant investment into the East Midlands region. Identifying, developing, and nurturing the talent required to continue to deliver and transform services, enhancing our employee value proposition and being able to adapt and grow with the ever-changing public service landscape will be critical.
The scope of the role in both team leadership and budgetary terms is significant, managing teams of HR, OD, L&D, equalities, and Occupational Health professionals.
For further details about the role and for an initial discussion, please contact Marjorie Toward, Service Director at marjorie.toward@nottscc.gov.uk or telephone 0115 9774404.
