Waltham Forest is an ambitious Borough. Driven by the culture and the innate creativity of our residents, we have developed innovative ways to build our communities and transform our Council.

We are a Council bursting with energy and opportunity. Our strong grasp of our finances means that we can invest - in our residents, our place and our people. We have recently launched our ambitious People Strategy 2021-2025 and are working closely with our staff to help shape the delivery and bring to life our values. We need to make sure that everything we are doing today supports that vision, and
helps our residents and staff succeed in an increasingly uncertain world. We are recruiting for the following roles to help us support the changes required to maintain the Council as an ‘Employer of Choice’.

To underpin and contribute to this ambitious journey we are looking for proficient, skilled, and experienced HR professionals to join our Team.

People Partner - Full time

Salary – £49,674- £52,746 (Grade - P07)

We are looking for a strong People Partner with excellent generalist experience in both operational functions and strategically. You will also manage team members and work very closely with other senior colleagues. As part of the role, you will be required to work with internal stakeholders to ensure the delivery of an effective customer friendly People & Organisational Development service. You will provide strong senior HR Business Partnering to all levels across the business.

The role requires that you will have in depth senior HR business partnering generalist experience along with the technical HR knowledge, with the ability to manage a diverse workload in a fast-paced environment. You must be comfortable working with a high degree of change with the ability to influence and build strong relationships through excellent interpersonal skills and be a confident individual who can communicate in a professional manner to wide range of employees as well as senior leaders and managers.

EQUAL OPPORTUNITIES

Waltham Forest is a diverse borough where diversity is valued and is integral to both, service delivery and employment of its staff. The Council is proud of its rich mix of communities and as the largest employer in the area, it works hard to respond to the changing needs of its population. We use our statutory duties on race, gender and disability equality and best practice in respect of age, faith and sexual orientation to ensure equality of opportunity in the workplace. The Council is committed to meeting its 4 equality objectives: - Promoting equality of opportunity - Opposing all forms of discrimination, intolerance and disadvantage - Ensuring our workforce reflects the diverse communities of Waltham Forest at all levels. - Providing fair, appropriate, accessible and excellent Services to all. Respecting Diversity is a core Council value. To support the above and reduce the risk of bias in its recruitment activities, the council is operating an anonymous shortlisting process, which hides personal information that can identify individuals until their application has been considered for shortlisting. The council also operates a scheme whereby, for jobs graded up to and including scale SO2, internal candidates are considered first. This includes those candidates who self-identify as having a disability for the purposes of the Disability Confident scheme.
