Up to 37.5 hours per week – happy to talk flexible working

Base: Hybrid - Scotland

About the role

We have a fantastic opportunity to join our dynamic HR team. Proactively partnering with the Scottish, Northern Irish and Welsh Directors, you will ensure the successful delivery of the People & OD People Plan.

As our People & OD Business Partner, you will be an integral part of the Director’s senior leadership team, enabling leaders to achieve their objectives and the organisation’s vision and goals, helping lead Transformation and change projects and supporting the cultural and people aspects of organisational change. You will be supported by the HR advisors and directly manage one HR Advisor for Scotland, NI and Wales.

You will manage resource needs, talent management, succession planning, building capability and maximising performance whilst providing HR and employee relations advice and support for complex cases.

In addition, you will make a meaningful contribution in shaping the direction of the People & OD Function and improving its operating model, being a voice of our colleagues, ensuring we get things right for the organisation.

We offer true hybrid working, a mix of home working and time within our new Hubs in Edinburgh or Glasgow (opens July 2022) with flexible working patterns to suit individual circumstances. On occasion, there will be travel, and possible overnight stays required, to Bristol, for larger People and Organisational Development team meetings.

About you

You will be experienced in HR partnering at a senior level in a fast paced organisation.

A skilled communicator, you will build relationships easily, engaging and motivating people, whilst ensuring the use of best practise in all advice you give.

Experience of implementing and embedding organisational change is key to being successful in this role; alongside knowledge of leading on talent management and development, building capability and driving great performance at all levels in the workforce.

We will look for evidence of your experience in developing and implementing

projects/initiatives and of your support in workforce planning. You will be skilled in interpreting information and use these skills to advise senior colleagues at a strategic level.

We aim to be a truly inclusive employer and welcome applications from people from all parts of the community, in particular from under-represented groups. Sustrans has a long-term commitment to being a charity for everyone - reducing inequality, valuing diversity, enabling inclusion and ensuring all people are treated with dignity & respect.
