The role

The Senior Manager, Talent Acquisition and Mobility leads the effective delivery of talent acquisition and mobility across RMIT Vietnam.  The Senior Manager brings significant expertise to the role through in depth experience and knowledge of organisational practice and principles within talent acquisition and mobility functions to effectively align with other HR functions and to achieve optimum internal stakeholder and candidate/employee experience.

The role leads and coaches a team of specialists to partner across a diverse range of business portfolios to attract and recruit local and international talent within a complex evolving environment, and provides business solutions that observe protocol relating to local labour law, work permit and visa regulations, niche skill sets, language proficiency etc.

The Senior Manager also leads the mobility team, who manage all work permit application, visa and relocation process for expatriate new hires based in country and internationally.   

As a key member of the HR Leadership Team the Senior Manager contributes to the delivery of the University HR strategy; proactively leading and supporting an agile and customer service focused culture in HR, to establish a future-fit organisation capable of continuous evolution and change.

The role influences and develops important working relationships across RMIT University Vietnam to ensure that the function is able to meet global business expectations within the local environment (i.e. long-term growth, retention, talent management) to maximise value to the organisation as a whole.

The Senior Manager is an advocate for fairness, transparency, diversity and inclusion, mitigating risk for the University by influencing outcomes and coaching stakeholders on the cost of well-rounded hiring decisions.

Experience

  • Degree relevant to Human Resources. Post-graduate qualification in a similar HR related field is desirable.

  • Extensive experience in a senior leadership position leading talent acquisition and global mobility services within a fast paced, highly complex, matrix business environment. Experience in the education industry is desirable.

  • Proven track record in global expatriate management and mobility.

  • Significant experience in leading and developing a team of local professionals through effective talent management, to effectively business partner with an agile and adaptive approach.

  • Expert in developing strategic relationships with key stakeholders; building productive and harmonious working relationships with staff at all levels; expert in cross cultural sensitivities and cross-cultural communication.

  • Initiative, critical thinking and problem-solving skills with the ability to transform strategic ideas into sound operational plans

  • Proven ability to lead and support cultural and organisational change by setting benchmarks for high-performing teams

  • Ability to adopt new technologies and to drive continuous service improvements (experience with Work Day is desirable).

  • Expert in job evaluation job evaluation methodology and principles of organisation design, training, job description and selection criteria development.

  • Sound understanding of emerging issues, trends, developments and standards in relation to HR services and skills development.

  • Proven ability to exercise initiative, think strategically and creatively, leverage relationships and ability to adopt an active approach to initiatives to support Schools and Departments to meet their resourcing objectives.

  • Highly competitive USD salary package (plus benefits) for expatriate candidates depending on proven track record, background and experience.

  • Expatriate candidates: Relocation allowance, plus support and guidance from experienced Mobility Advisor to assist in work permit and visa application together with relocation to and settling into living and working in Vietnam.

  • Tuition fee support - up to US$15,000 per child annually, up to 2 children per family; private insurance coverage for staff and family

  • 20 days annual leave plus 5 days paid leave Xmas closure, plus public holidays and 10 days paid sick leave.

Further information

As an expatriate candidate you will require a work permit to work in Vietnam.  To qualify for a work permit you will need (at minimum) a degree in a relevant field to the position, and must be able to provide official written confirmation (statement of service) of at least 3 years’ management related experience.

English Proficiency

English is the language of teaching and communication at RMIT Vietnam. For this role, the minimum requirement is IELTS General with a score of at least 6.5 or equivalent.
