An exciting new opportunity has arisen with in CAKE a leading independent kids and family content distribution and TV production company for a part time Head of People & Culture on a 1 year FTC. You will play a pivotal role in the continued growth of the organisation by developing the unique culture and creating a fantastic employee experience. This will be a standalone HR position reporting in to the COO and CEO working closely with the leadership team. The successful applicant will be a highly capable and experienced HR professional who enjoys managing projects, processes and people, has excellent communication skills, and the ability to lead and deliver thoughtfully designed strategic initiatives that reflect our values and support our purpose.

Key responsibilities:

This role will lead on implementing key people initiatives and bringing a professional HR function in-house to support our growing business.

  • Partner with the COO and CEO to develop a commercially focused people strategy to drive employee engagement, capability and performance. Review all areas of the People & Culture remit and make recommendations for improvements to reflect best practice, forward thinking workplace activities and to enhance capability. Foster an inclusive culture, embed company values and devise implement a range of employee wellbeing initiatives. Devise and oversee the delivery of learning and development initiatives, including management development to support all management levels and teams in fulfilling their potential and achieving business objectives. Review the pay and reward approach, ensuring fairness and transparency. Develop Talent Acquisition and retention. Enable a positive employee experience at key points along the employee lifecycle (e.g. onboarding, leave management, wellbeing, promotion, offboarding) and oversee gathering feedback and insights for continuous improvement. Review and implement performance management processes and training at all levels to support teams and individuals to be accountable for their performance and meet business objectives.

Requirements:

 

In order to be considered, you must have significant experience in a similar role, ideally within media business. You will be an excellent communicator, proactive, and driven to create an environment of excellence. You will possess the gravitas to liaise and influence senior leadership, yet will be happy to assist colleagues at all levels. You will ideally be CIPD qualified. You will be happy to work from our London Office.
