Introduction
The House of Lords HR team provides a range of people services to the c670 colleagues employed directly by the Administration each of whom helps to directly support and strengthen the work of the second chamber of the UK Parliament.
The Head of Business Partnering and Advisory Services position is a key role within our HR team, overseeing our Recruitment, Pensions & HR Payroll, HR Systems & Continuous Improvement, and HR Business Partnering & Advisory functions.
As a member of the HR senior leadership team, and reporting to the Deputy HR Director, the role will help drive forward operational excellence across a newly reorganised team, enabling us to enhance workforce performance and develop people solutions to deliver the Administration’s objectives.
The Role
The Head of Business Partnering and Advisory Services will help to provide service excellence across our operational HR services, overseeing a team of 11 colleagues within the Recruitment, Pensions & HR Payroll, HR Systems & Continuous Improvement & HR Business Partnering and Advisory services functions, develop people and business-focused solutions to meet organisational objectives.
Skills and Experience
- Strong HR Knowledge - Strong and effective HR experience and ability to build partnerships and relationships; being recognised as a trusted advisor.
- Delivering at Pace - Ability to deliver effective outcomes in an ambiguous environment.
- HR Expertise - Up-to-date HR subject matter expertise with evidence of continuing professional development including thorough understanding of relevant employment legislation and HR good practice
- Communication and Interpersonal Skills - Excellent communication and listening skills, including the confidence to speak with credibility and authority when operating at a senior level.
- Collaboration - Ability to work collaboratively and proactively with stakeholders both internally and externally.
