Hays is pleased to be working in partnership with a leading manufacturing company, who as a result of significant grown, are recruiting for a Head of Talent to join their Senior Management Team.
In this newly created role, you will manage the asset of people and lead and develop effective HR solutions to shape the vision, values and culture of the business.


Your new role
Reporting to the Board of Directors, you will take responsibility for developing and converting key strategies into HR initiatives and provide direction and support within the Senior Management Team. You will lead and manage the overall recruitment strategy for the business and provide effective solutions to any talent acquisition and talent development requirements whilst addressing other HR business challenges. You will be involved in projects that ensure HR is adding value & work closely with stakeholders to understand business & operational metrics to improve business performance by driving the people agenda.

Key responsibilities will include:

* Management & overseeing the day-to-day HR requirements of the business, providing guidance as well as building strong relationships with managers and supervisors to understand ongoing recruitment and training needs
* Building the brand in the market promoting the employee value proposition & making the business an employer of choice
* Analyse current recruitment processes and make improvements through the utilisation of the company's website, social media, job boards etc, to attract talent in the market
* Assessing workforce plans for the business ensuring we pipeline top talent in key areas and promote equality of opportunity
* Leading the delivery of local HR initiatives & projects with external stakeholders such as Invest NI, MEGA and local schools and colleges while working within specific budgets and to deadlines. This includes supporting initiatives to enhance employee engagement & retention, whilst benchmarking of hourly rates, salaries, and terms of employment
* Development and maintenance of the in-house training matrix
* Conducting detailed analysis of HR trends and metrics to develop solutions that will alleviate any current problems
* Develop an understanding of the functional areas, conduct a training needs analysis by working with the stakeholders to identify training needs & put relevant training plans in place within budget
* Devising & reviewing individual development plans as part of the Performance & Talent Reviews
* Driving organisational change & support succession planning
* Assist in the development & implementation of continuous improvement initiatives & instil HR practices which add value


What you'll need to succeed

* The ideal candidate will demonstrate a breadth of exposure to basic HR functions in the first instance and have a desire to affect change through the development of talent
* Will have the ability to influence others and effectively problem solve
* HR best practice with regard candidate attraction, recruitment processes, talent pooling, metrics on recruitment performance, employer branding, social media recruitment and diversity & inclusion Recruitment campaign management experience, including employer branding.
* Knowledge of current employment legislation related to recruitment
* Exposure to delivering projects and initiatives which add value to business
* Ability to identify, scope and implement commercial and pragmatic HR solutions in response to changing business needs
* Experience of sourcing positions, within manufacturing or engineering industries would be advantageous
