This is a new role for us at Betsi, and we are seeking an exceptional people leader with passion, energy and insight, and the experience to support our strategic ambitions and help continue to develop a culture of compassion and learning for improvement.

We are the biggest employer in North Wales, and with that comes complexity, high demands, and an experienced Executive/Board, and therefore the successful candidate will take a proactive approach to developing the culture of the organisation so that the Health Board is genuinely a place that attracts, engages, supports and develops staff. Working as part of a senior People Leadership Team and in collaboration across the organisation, you will lead on the transformation and improvement of the People services.

Our ambition over the coming months is to have successfully implemented our new people services structure, and this role will be critical in embedding the new team of Associate People Directors and Heads of Services, giving them the guidance, support and opportunity to flourish in meeting the aspirations in the People Strategy & Plan.

You will be a dynamic and ambitious leader who expertly combines a strategic oversight with a focus on the detail and takes an innovative approach to developing and leading new and modern people practices. To succeed in this role, we are looking for someone who has a proven track record of expertise and impact across all people, culture and organisational development areas, and you will have the drive to foster an amazing employee experience that delivers high levels of engagement. Overseeing a talented team with a significant portfolio, you will be a rigorous, clear thinker and a sophisticated communicator, who will inspire trust and confidence in the People function and wider organisation with a passion for inclusion and reducing inequalities.

Beyond the experience you bring, we are looking for someone who brings the right attitude and values. We want our clinical settings to be the place where patients come first; where all aspects of the patient experience – from our facilities to our clinical specialists – are the best we can offer. You will need to thrive in a customer-focussed setting, willing to go the extra mile for colleagues and the benefit of our patients. Reporting to and deputising for the Executive Director of Workforce & OD, you will attend Health Board meetings, work with senior colleagues and be responsible for ensuring the delivery of a professional People service of the highest quality to managers and staff, with a focus on enhancing the working lives of colleagues and delivering high standards of care across the organisation. This role brings a great opportunity to develop and in time potential to step up to the Executive Director role, so please be ready to tell your story! With significant experience of senior complex leadership in Human Resources practice at management level in an acute NHS sector and experience of leading and

managing multi-disciplinary HR/OD services and teams is essential alongside building relationships with national bodies and system partners. Please see the attached job description and personal specification for more details of the role.

The Selection panels will take place on the 7th and 8th September.
