Put the right people in the right place at the right time

Keeping the United Kingdom safe is a complex task and the threats we face are ever evolving. Our national Counter Terrorism network is vital to the nation’s continued security. Join us as HR Support Officer, and you’ll have your own crucial part to play in that.

You’ll be based at the heart of it all — Counter Terrorism Policing Headquarters (CTPHQ) — where you’ll help the national network with recruitment and workforce planning, and a wide range of other initiatives. There will be competing demands from your colleagues across the team, and you’ll need to manage those effectively while providing dedicated support to the Head of Strategic CT HR.

Specifically, that will see you handling recruitment and workforce planning across nine Counter Terrorism regions and looking for new ways around any barriers. You’ll advise colleagues and business managers alike and build strong relationships across the business, driving discussions with senior stakeholders.

It would be helpful if you have a background in CT or policing, or a working knowledge of our policies and processes. It’s more important, though, that you have experience in managing recruitment activity, and excellent time management and organisational skills.  You’ll also be able to extract usable data from sometimes incomplete information, and you’ll be keen to learn new skills in a changing environment.

Flexibility will be key too, as the role involves national travel across the nine CT regions.

In return, you’ll enjoy a huge range of benefits plus real work/life balance.

Vetting

This post requires access to the most sensitive intelligence material on a daily basis. Applicants must hold or be prepared to undergo National Security Vetting (NSV) Security Check (enhanced) (SC(e)) level before taking up the post; with a willingness to undergo Developed Vetting (DV) once in post, if required.

Confidentiality Agreement

Applicants should also be aware of the need to sign a confidentiality agreement on taking up the post.
