People Officer Wetherby | Up to £23,350| Mon-Fri 36 hours | Permanent + 6 months FTC available

Your new role

Your new role will involve working as part of the People Team providing in line with people policies and legal requirements. Providing a quality and consistent HR service and giving operational advice and support to business managers, covering areas of recruitment, employee lifecycle, absence management, employee relations and reporting.

Key areas:

* To advise and coach managers on specific day to day employment matters, under the guidance of People Team colleagues
* To support projects and day to day activities within the People Team, under the guidance of People Team colleagues
* To support corporate and local negotiations with the Trade Unions: arranging meetings, taking minutes, and taking the initiative in liaising to help resolve problems and ensure the smooth running of the meetings
* To monitor the use of facility time and give guidance as necessary to unions, line managers and People Team colleagues on the application of the Industrial Relations Framework
* To provide support to ensure a professional recruitment, on-boarding and employee lifecycle experience
* To maintain and update the People Team sections of the Intranet


What you'll need to succeed


* Excellent communication skills
* Good organisational skills, with ability to manage time, plans and workload to meet priorities
* Able to work independently and great problem solving skills
* Experience of drafting / amending formal documents and taking minutes
* Interpersonal and influencing skills
* Experience of working on projects with set outcomes and timescales
* Maintaining confidentiality
* IT literate including all Office programmes


Additional requirements (desirable)


* HR and recruitment experience
* Experience with Trade Unions
* CIPD qualification or equivalent
