Edinburgh
Edinburgh is known as Scotland's capital city, but also its festival, business and cultural capital too. The city is home to the Scottish Parliament and some of the most recognisable landmarks in Europe, from the medieval Old Town to the elegant Georgian New Town.
And here at The City of Edinburgh Council we're at the heart of that city. With nearly four million domestic and overseas visitors and almost half a million people calling Edinburgh home, it has never been more important for us to make sure our city is a great place to live, work and enjoy.
The role of Service Director, Human Resources is responsible to the Executive Director of Corporate Services for setting the strategic direction for the Council’s people agenda aligned to the overall Council Business plan.
You will lead on the development and delivery of the Council’s People Strategy and Strategic Workforce Plan, including cultural transformation and organisational change work, as well leading the HR team delivering all aspects of HR service to 19,000 Council colleagues.
We are looking for an exceptional HR professional with significant experience of leading change and a track record of setting vision and strategy, developing a high-performance culture and successful partnership working in a complex organisation.
